At first, it seemed like they only wanted to eliminate the competition for the launch of their new Failbooking site (it’s being heavily promoted on FailBlog right now), but he offered me a hefty sum of money to do so. I didn’t want to disappoint my loyal fans, but you guys know I really need the money. That’s why I got in this business from the start, you know? I hope you all understand.
It’s been a fine time leading this site into what it was! But I think it’s time to move on to bigger and better things!

@ rico - actually America does not have a “shit ton” of money. We have an enormous national debt and a soraing unemployment rate. As much as I feel bad for Haiti - there are a lot of people here living in their own personal disasters every day.
@ JCrown. Oh poor america in debt and heaps of unemployment, as do most countries in the world. America is still a wealthy nation that can look after itself. Haiti-not so much. Its comments like that that make other countries dislike america. Try going overseas and see how differently you are treated by people when you say your not american.

Why are we more responsible for solving other nations’ problems before our own? I know perfectly well how Americans are viewed outside of our borders, and being looked upon with disdain doesn’t inspire me to be generous to those who plainly hate me. Why should I or my family sacrifice what we work our butts off for to give it to a bunch of people who hate us? There are plenty of charities here in America, plenty of starving children, plenty of parents struggling to make ends meet, and plenty of American soldiers who’ve been injured around the world defending people who claim to hate us but demand our help. Attack me all you want for wanting to help my own country. The US is a wonderful country, with its own set of problems, that it needs to deal with before it can be a significant and meaningful influence in the running of world politics. Isn’t that what the rest of the world tells us anyway? To stay out of other countries’ business? The US is criticized at the same time for failing to assist other nations as it is for trying to assist them. So forgive some of its citizens for becoming somewhat isolationist in the face of global hatred. You can’t s**t on us and ask us for help in the same damn sentence.
