Lived in Germany for a while, awesome country. Also lived in South korea, Japan, and China (bejing/shanghai) all great. The reason I say this, is because, much like my old nieghborhood in florida, people tend to live in their bubbles and dont know much about other countries, or even how things work on a global scale.

Listen, the thing that bothers me about conservatives is this idea that they have to be against EVERYTHING that Obama wants to get done regardless of their own belief system. Then they feed to people like you and you eat it up then regurgitate it to the rest of us.
We spent 17.8% of our GDP on health care last year. That’s about 1 out of every 6 dollars. In 2020 it will be 20% or 1 out of every 5 dollars. To put that in perspective the UK, which has a universal health care system (even though it’s not perfect it’s better than nothing); spent 7.8% of their GDP on Health Care last year, and it was down from the year before. Our economy can not sustain the current privatized system we have today and on top of that we won’t be able to compete in the future. How is it being a fiscal “conservative” to be against changing that?
Insurance companies are raising rates because they can. Nobody is stopping them. They have us all by the balls. They posted record profits last year. In the worst recession in decades mind you. They posted a profit! Then they turn around this year and raise rates. In some cases 4 times that of inflation. With NO justification. You can talk about being a conservative all you want. You can’t tell me that’s not bullshit. You can tell me you want your country back. I say remember that when you are going bankrupt, like 60% of all bankruptcies in this country, thanks to your health care costs.

So, to follow the trend, I’m gonna come with my own opinion. Being from Denmark I’ve grown up with a healt care system paid trhough taxes. And it’s always worked fine for me. I don’t really mind the fact that my money helps those who doesn’t have enough. And that their money could help me, should the situation change.
That’s just my opinion though – people might disagree.
And even though we’ve got a taxpaid health care system, I wouldn’t call what we’ve got ‘socialism’ at all. But then again, if the Democrats were a Danish party, they would be considered more right-winged than our Conservatives, I think.

On top of that, I’m pretty sure that my place is getting broken into right now, so feel free to call those other guys instead of the cops for me. My 80 year old grandmother will be relieved that you did so, and she can get back to her 50 hour a week job. To much you say? I think it’s just about right. I mean how else is she going to live if she doesn’t have social security and Medicare? We say F the government. WOOOOHOOOO BROTHER!
Listen, the thing that bothers me about conservatives is this idea that they have to be against EVERYTHING that Obama wants to get done regardless of their own belief system. Then they feed to people like you and you eat it up then regurgitate it to the rest of us.
We spent 17.8% of our GDP on health care last year. That’s about 1 out of every 6 dollars. In 2020 it will be 20% or 1 out of every 5 dollars. To put that in perspective the UK, which has a universal health care system (even though it’s not perfect it’s better than nothing); spent 7.8% of their GDP on Health Care last year, and it was down from the year before. Our economy can not sustain the current privatized system we have today and on top of that we won’t be able to compete in the future. How is it being a fiscal “conservative” to be against changing that?
Insurance companies are raising rates because they can. Nobody is stopping them. They have us all by the balls. They posted record profits last year. In the worst recession in decades mind you. They posted a profit! Then they turn around this year and raise rates. In some cases 4 times that of inflation. With NO justification. You can talk about being a conservative all you want. You can’t tell me that’s not bullshit. You can tell me you want your country back. I say remember that when you are going bankrupt, like 60% of all bankruptcies in this country, thanks to your health care costs.

You guys just made my day! I came home from school with absolutely nothing to do (except homework), and was ready to get bored out of my mind. Then I stumbled over this. This discussion is hilarious
Nobody isn’t really getting anywhere, because no one is ready to listen to what the rest says.
So, to follow the trend, I’m gonna come with my own opinion. Being from Denmark I’ve grown up with a healt care system paid trhough taxes. And it’s always worked fine for me. I don’t really mind the fact that my money helps those who doesn’t have enough. And that their money could help me, should the situation change.
That’s just my opinion though – people might disagree.
And even though we’ve got a taxpaid health care system, I wouldn’t call what we’ve got ‘socialism’ at all. But then again, if the Democrats were a Danish party, they would be considered more right-winged than our Conservatives, I think.
