Beyond showing a lack of compassion and empathy, his post makes no sense. And oh yeah, he might not realize that many people can’t AFFORD to buy their own healthcare.

HE HAS A HEALTH CARE, GUYS.

The dude with the healthcare needs a health scare
October 25th, 2009 at 9:57 am
I haven’t had insurance for going on 7 years now due to low cash flow and lack of benefits with my job. I had a health scare just a couple months ago and was LUCKY I found a good free clinic!
(Scare turned out to be nothing, but even the cost of getting it checked out can bankrupt someone)
October 25th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
just because you have health care doesn’t mean you deserved to stay alive…
November 4th, 2009 at 12:15 pm
America need MORE MACHINES OF WAR!! The USA is a democracy so if we wanted health care and other valuable social services most first world nations take for granted, we’d have ‘em right? Or do we pay no attention to policy and vote instead on intangible qualities like “hope” or “change” or “seems like a good guy”?
November 6th, 2009 at 1:36 pm
I have healthcare for $80 per month. It includes three doctor visits per year for $30 each. (probably won’t even use all of that). Maybe if people didn’t have payments on a car they can’t afford, a fancy TV with Tivo and going out to eat all the time they could afford healthcare. It’s not a matter of not being able to afford for most people. They are just buying other things!
November 8th, 2009 at 6:11 pm
In Spain we have free heathcare. We can visit the doctor every time we want, we don’t need to pay anything, even if we get a new heart, or we have cancer or a insignificantly flu. I don’t understand this part of american people that don’t support that… they’re so selfish. I want to see them lose their jobs, and see what they do!!
sorry for my bad english
November 12th, 2009 at 8:23 pm
Agreed, Leosss. I don’t understand why the US is the only First World Nation in the world that doesn’t have proper health care. Nor do I understand why Americans get so steamed up about this as a ‘threat to their freedom of choice’ or some ‘left wing, socialist conspiracy’ whenever their government proposes it.
Get with the program, guys. Healthy citizens value add to your economy. It’s no brainer, really.

“Thanks Adam! I just lost my job today. And because I have pre-existing conditions, I probably won’t be able to get insurance. So I don’t deserve to stay alive? Thanks.”
My response: Maybe you shouldn’t have lost your job. Dumb bitch.
If you can’t afford something, it’s your own fault. Poor? Homeless? Get a job. Already got one but still not cutting it? Get a better one. Can’t? Go to college.
It’s all about the education. Good education = good life. If you do everything right and don’t mess up your life, you won’t be poor, you won’t be homeless, you won’t lose your job, you won’t “not be able to get insurance” because you “can’t afford” it.
QUIT MAKING EXCUSES FOR YOUR LAZINESS. GET OFF YOUR ASS AND SOLVE THE PROBLEM YOURSELF.
November 14th, 2009 at 9:27 pm
@MuEpsilonGamma
There are millions of people who have been laid off their jobs THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN. One town in my state lost a General Motors plant. Thousands of people were put out of work. Are you suggesting that every single one of those workers is at fault for losing their jobs?
Maybe you need to use some of that money of yours to buy a soul.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:55 pm
I don’t understand those yanks that don’t want universal health care. I feel sorry for them as a nation. As for you MuEpsilonGamma, I am assuming by your Frat Boy name and mentality that you come from a rather upscale background. Parents have money and went to the better schools. WAKE THE F UP!!!
I came from a hellish background, we made dirt poor look classy, I spent thirty years working hard to get where I am now and I wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t for the Canadian Healthcare system. I had childhood health issues that would have killed me without treatment that my family could not have afforded.
It’s not all about the choices people make. So STFU!
November 18th, 2009 at 5:30 am
Take responsibility for your own life, there are plenty of jobs if you are not afraid of lowering your standards. I have never met a poor person who wasn’t also lazy, however I have met a lot of hard working former poor people. Not having insurance does not exclude you from getting health care, it just means you will need to pay for it.
November 19th, 2009 at 4:45 pm
im from canada. free healthcare all the way! everyone has a right to healthcare.
November 20th, 2009 at 12:16 am
I really think some of you need to get a clue. There are a lot of people in America who do not have insurance b/c they can not afford it. My mother has bladder cancer. After being diagnosed, Nestle (A HUGE CORPORATION), let her go for organized gambling. She collected money from her co workers for lottery tickets. But for some reason she was the only one let go. It really seems like they let her go b/c her cancer treatments cost them too much money and she had to miss work after them (covered under FMLA). She could never afford to buy her own insurance, esp since she has a pre existing condition. So does she really deserve to die or is she less of a person b/c she was not born wealthy? No. America’s view on health insurance is ridiculous.
November 20th, 2009 at 2:37 pm
Haha, America fails at healthcare! In Sweden, all healthcare is for free (goes in your taxes). Also, studying is free (if u are exchangestudent u pay 1000), but all books that is required comes for free. So, sick alot? Studying? dont hassle to visit Sweden!
Mark my spelling, im a 8th grader -.-
November 20th, 2009 at 2:40 pm
Haha i remember now that i doesnt matter, scince you have to be a Swedish citizen to get that bonus (Exeptions: Intensive care). But still, i can boast more than the Canedians
November 20th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
I live in California, our state run healthcare SUCKS! I was on Medi-cal, the doctors offices were dirty as hell and only certain places took state insurance because half the time the state refused or wouldn’t pay for the services given. I’m fine with paying out of pocket for sure.
November 20th, 2009 at 11:31 pm
Cole, Universal Health care and state healthcare aren’t the same thing. The proposed platform would mean that ALL places take your insurance, not just the trashy ones. And all serious conditions would be covered, no more ‘picking and choosing’.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:26 am
What a bunch of Fucking crybabies………One cries for the poor and one cries for himself. Hang on a minute, I need to go grab some freakin kleenex here!!
November 24th, 2009 at 6:34 am
for everyone saying healthcare is free… its not! nothing is free. you pay for it through your taxes. i am healthy. i eat healthy. i excersise regularly. i don’t smoke. i make an effort to be/stay healthy so i have cheap/great insurance that i can afford. i do not want to pay more for someone who is a lazy fat smoker that eats fast food everyday like the majority of the american public.
November 27th, 2009 at 10:19 am
@nothing is free - just because you eat well and excercise doesn’t mean you won’t get sick… and people who get sick can eat well and exercise too (should they pay more because they were born with a disease or got in an accident?) it’s a stupid assumption you’re making and unfair to people who have illnesses through no fault of their own. same goes to people who get in accidents.
stop crying about the taxes and perhaps ponder the reason why america is the ONLY industrialised country to NOT have universal health care… oh right, because you’re too selfish to pay a couple of extra $ in tax
November 29th, 2009 at 6:15 am
Bemerkenswert topic
December 1st, 2009 at 8:29 pm
@ Jamie Maddison and all others who argue for “fairness” and say idiotic things like “stop crying about taxes”: WAKE UP. Life isn’t fair. People who have pre-existing conditions (I have Crohn’s Disease, so I know how it feels)are a burden on the system, so they should pay more.
Yes! America needs healthcare reform so that these people aren’t screwed. But it can be done without universal healthcare.
Bottom line that you heads-in-the-sand lefties need to understand: No matter how much money we throw into our healthcare, we are going to hemmorhage even more thanks to our ever increasing unhealthy population. So no, Jamie Maddison, I will not “stop crying” about raised taxes because 60% of Americans are obese and are abusing our medical resources.

How about just go back to the good old fashioned Darwin’s theory of survival of the fittest and be done with this debate.

I want a screenshot of this so I can post it after Obamacare FAILS!
December 9th, 2009 at 12:39 pm
We lefties over here have public option and health care services are available for every German citizen. The system may not be perfect but it works well. And who ever wants, has an option of private insurance.
Here’s the biggie: measured by % of GDP, your system is hideously more expensive than ours but offers very meager coverage. That’s free market for you, rightie.
Apart from the cost aspect, I find your system extremely cynical for a country that claims to be first world - even more so when it is not a financial but an ideological question. This is only my personal opinion, though.
More on health care cost comparison, go to http://www.forbes.com/2009/07/02/health-care-costs-opinions-columnists-reform.html
December 10th, 2009 at 2:42 pm
Wow there are some heartless pricks out there. MuGamma and a couple others. I understand that some people are lazy but don’t generalize to make it seem like everyone who can’t afford insurance is a lazy fatass. There are those who can’t get jobs not because they are stupid or lazy, but because no one ever gave them a chance. But I’m guessing you assholes out there don’t know what it’s like to be denied. Then again maybe you do, but I still think your comments have no merit.
December 10th, 2009 at 2:42 pm
Oh ya ha ha I forgot this is supposed to be a place to laugh.

my God, i thought you were going to chip in with some decisive insght at the end there, not leave it with ?we leave it to you to decide?.
December 16th, 2009 at 8:04 am
I have two jobs - the second one is to pay for insurance for my son and I since neither offers benefits of any substance…I would much rather work a hundred jobs to pay for insurance than have this Obama HealthCare plan thrust on me….There are some insurance companies that provide benefits to anyone even with a preexisting condition…..if you just lost your job go apply for one of those….use Cobra etc. Yes, there does need to be reform….but honestly, if you want to see how this is going to turn out look at the other government programs ie the Postal Service. ETC
December 23rd, 2009 at 12:00 pm
I thought MuEpsilonGamma’s post was ironic. How sad.
December 30th, 2009 at 12:00 pm
i live in a crappy country.. we have socialized health care, we pay about 8% of our monthly salary to support it… but EVERYTHING is included.. no bullshit pre-existing crap or others
medications, appoinments, surgery everything is covered…
January 5th, 2010 at 3:24 pm
Is there something wrong with me, that when I read the title of this piece, I pictured a fluffy kitten licking its paws, and saying “I haz a health care”?
January 8th, 2010 at 10:42 pm
just because you can’t afford a health care doesn’t mean you should get one. People are out there dying of AIDS, starvation, disease, and they don’t do stupid things to their bodies like get obese or chain-smoke, and they don’t have healthcare. I don’t think those people who don’t have healthcare, want it, but don’t try to improve their health to get it, are absolute idiots with no life and they should give their privileged lives to the less fortunate. The people who pay for their own health care already pay enough for those who can’t afford it, why should they support people who don’t support the country?
January 12th, 2010 at 11:03 pm
some of you people are seriously idiots!!! i think the only way ye would have any sort of compassion for others would be for u to gain something from it… for god sake there are plenty of people out there that are poor and cant get themselves off that breadline because nowadays all you see is the rich get richer and the poor get poorer theres alot more to it than people just being lazy and if you are so closed minded on this i seriously hope your opinion never matters on anything more ‘important’ than weather u should get that latest games console thats coming out… healthcare should be taken care of with the likes of taxes nobody knows whats around the corner for them none of us are untouchable , have some compassion for ur fellow man!
January 12th, 2010 at 11:32 pm
the US spends 18% of its annual GDP budget on healthcare, more than double what the other “socialist countries” do for their health coverage. and you know what still gets me? how is it that we’re spending so much money and not everyone is covered, while other countries are spending HALF of their budget and EVERYONE is covered??
it’s because our system is FLAWED, it’s ineffient, cruel among other things, and needs to be changed. just look at the numbers and stop with the selfish arguments.
January 16th, 2010 at 5:39 am
There’s a movement to radically change California government, by getting rid of career politicians and chopping their salaries in half. A group known as Citizens for California Reform wants to make the California legislature a part time time job, just like it was until 1966.

Universal healthcare may get everyone covered, but it doesn’t mean the actual care is good. I know our system sucks, but universal healthcare isn’t going to fix anything… it’ll just make it harder for patients to get the quality medical attention they need to live…
February 13th, 2010 at 6:41 pm
Hi, I can?t understand how to add your site in my rss reader. Can you Help me, please
February 23rd, 2010 at 7:39 pm
Lost a job?? No healthcare?? Get a job at Starbucks or most hospitals working 20 hours a week doing whatever it takes so that you can get healthcare…cut out the hair appts., nails, cable tv, expensive cell plans. Healthcare should be first after food and shelter on your priority list. It’s not an option after you buy everything else you want and if you want to gamble you will never get sick, don’t expect to to be covered because it’s a bet you lost. Most employers I’ve worked for waive pre-existing conditions upon hire. GET A JOB. Anyone wanting free healthcare should be REQUIRED to volunteer at least two days a week to be entitled for any freebies.

facebookfails.com, how do you do it?

I don’t understand this fear of universal healthcare. We’ve had it in the UK since 1945. We’ve had left-wing and right-wing governments over the years, but none of them would dream of denying UK residents free healthcare when needed.
There were MANY poeple in the UK (mainly the rich) who hated the concept of free healthcre for all when it was first introduced. 65 years later and it’s a fundamental part of our society.
The Thatcher government of the 80s was as right-wing as any US administration and “The Iron Lady” saw in President Regan a “kindred spirit”.
Sure, she heavily cut our National Health Service and privatised almost everything, but even she knew that the British people could never accept a system where anyone was denied medical help because the couldn’t afford it.
If Obama’s plans do go through then I suspect, in many years to come, Americans may have the same opinion.
Why the hell am I even debating this on facebookfail? My bad:-)
