Great job, Achilles. You managed to talk about how handsome you are — without actually saying it. This is extremely difficult to do because it can easily be labeled “vanity.” However, throwing in the Abercrombie story is a perfect way around it. It’s true, they don’t hire “ugly” people – and you might be happy to know they don’t hire disabled people or minorities. You must be one handsome, white guy.

@Dude: Really? I RARELY see minorities working at A&F. Lately, they have been hiring a few Asians, but that’s it. I shop there quite often and in all the stores I’ve been to (and I travel quite a bit), I have only seen three Asians and one black girl working there.

really? i thought that was just a rumor. i wouldn’t be too happy because i would rather shop for myself. hmm in other shopping stores, i get asked, but i walk away saying “i don’t work here”. and whoever was with me would say, they looked mad like i lying to them. not even sure why.

there are actually many “minorities” that work at abercrombie’s all over the world.. you probably just don’t see them. i work at abercrombie and usually there’s only like two person in the actual store (usually in womans 1 and cashwrap/canoe room), and everyone else just hangs in the back. we don’t really do much, but if the people up front needs something, that’s why we have walkie talkies… and actually yes, although they are very discriminative, it’s not necessarily about “how ugly” you are, but rather, what your style is, and how you would represent their clothes. most of the people whom work there love abercrombie, and would wear it on a daily basis whether or not they were working. people who show up in oversized t-shirts, and baggy pants are the people who are not getting hired, because of their style.. not because they’re “ugly”…

They don’t hire unattractive people because it brings in more customers. I have never seen one unattractive person working there. (Or the hired dancers, wow…)
I really appreciate the A&F style of hireing. Not only do you get nice clothing, but you get eye candy
And they do hire all nationalities. I distinctly remember one absolutly gorgeous black guy, compleatly ripped! yum
